This past weekend I got the news that my work would be included in the Spectrum Art Show at the Jacob Javits Center in NYC. I was shocked and surprised. I knew my work would be exhibited in two shows one in Saratoga Springs, NY and Rochester, NY. Both were fairly small exhibits. But had no idea until last Friday that they would be included in NYC show. I had planned to go down and be a spectator and meet a fellow artist who helped me get those first two shows. On Saturday I got down there and was given an exhibitor badge. It was so exciting to meet fellow artists and art admirers. I sold two smaller pieces at the show. The three aluminum prints were placed on their own white wall under bright lights but still waiting for a buyer. Each show I am networking and getting better at selling myself and my work, but must admit I do need more work in that area. It's difficult for me. I much rather sit at my Mac and create. I do find these shows extremely inspiring to see what other contemporary artists are doing. Absolutely amazing work and everyone is so friendly. People happy doing what they do. Anyway it was a great day to be in NYC and what a wonderful experience. Hopefully more shows to come. I will keep my DA friends up to date.
