Digital painting created in Painter 12 and Photoshop. To add texture I scanned a silk scarf with fractals on it and overlayed it using photoshop. That's right I found a silk scarf with fractals on it of course I had to have it!

My site is free of pop up ads and very user friendly with tons of free stuff including photoshop content and wallpapers of various themes. What is on DA is only a fraction of what is available from Starwalt Design. Hope you enjoy your visit!

Thank you so much, this piece is better to view close up to see the subtle gradations and the hint of those fractals from my scarf. I wonder what I should scan next?

is the scarf too subtle, or would, maybe a couple of macro photos show the pattern/texture better? or even just a sharp regular photo? you could post it with the the finished art to show the process!

umm...how about bubble wrap? or aluminium foil? a piece of velvet fabric? wood? colored glass? socks! hee hee. :)

Ooh thnx for the great ideas, love scanning only don't ever scan sliced fruit, I ruined a scanner that way.

hahahha! gotcha, i'll avoid that. i can see how it would look really cool, especially citrus fruit! i ruined a camera (duh) in the shower. that's all i'll say about that. LOL! :D
